In
spring the island is full of flowers. The old, paved hiking
trails lead to the most beautiful places of the island.
Countless wild flowers and medicinal plants (anemones,
unbelievable red poppy seed, artichokes, marguerites,
fennel, marien thistle, broom etc.) are flourishing on
the meadows in spring. Orchids are flourishing in the
forest. In late summer you can find wide fields with the
inflorescence of the red squill which can grow to two
metres and on the ground the typical Greek cyclamens. |
